We provide a huge range in low odour coatings.
Most timber floors can be sanded. We obviously need some timber to sand, but 1-2mm is enough. Cracks along the edges are a sign that your boards are getting too thin and you may be on your last sand.
We do repairs to any damaged boards. Squeaky floors can be fixed by punching the nails, but it can be sometimes movement in the sub floor which is a little bit harder to fix from above.
We certainly can. Show us the colour you would like, and we will make it happen. Every timber has a different grain, which can’t be changed as it is part of the timber itself. Deep red timbers will always add a touch of red to the stain as well, but can certainly be softened. We provide samples on the floor to help with making the decision.
All furniture will need to be moved off the floor to commence sanding.
We can certainly remove any flooring covering the floor boards. We are also happy to provide advice.
This is vitally important. A door mat will help remove any grit from your shoes. Felt tips on any moving furniture. A Ph neutral cleaner will clean the floor without breaking down the finish. We can sell you with the cleaner we recommend if requested.
Most coatings will dry within 24 hours for foot traffic.
While it does depend on the size of the job, our two-man team we can get most homes done within one week.
We use commercial strength products so you can get towards 20 years out of your floor, if you follow the instructions above. Shoes off, felt tips on furniture, correct cleaner. Any floor will scratch and dent, but the coating will protect the timber.
Short answer- it depends. We charge per square metre so the biggest influence on cost is the finish used. Polyurethane is our most economic finish. We also provide a cost-effective option in Eco-Lux.
While there is no defining answer. You can get 20 years out of good products with proper care. It is why we choose our coatings. All floors will get scratches and dents over time. Once you start seeing grey and black cracks in the coating, it’s time to re-sand.
This is completely up to you. While the floor is wet you won’t be able to walk on it. So we look at the lay out of your house to see if it is possible for you to access the areas of the house you need while staying off the work area. Water based options can mean you can stay home if the lay out of the house works.
This also depends on the finish. Allow 5 days to be safe. We do have some quick curing options if required.
Our machines are extremely effective when collecting dust, we also use large vacuums to control the dust.
